T-Minus 2 and a half days and some comfort. I initially was all about a Beatles tune, tunes, in my parodies, exclusively so, The Orange Album, they were songs I could sing and was comfortable with. Though they were of the time this one still holds up.

It is fun in a not fun kind of way.

Now in the process of my posting these tunes of mine, words well worked in anger at the pained obvious, well wrought obvious, words red flagged in an attempt at a head’s up, “Do you see?” things that are my stand up I waver … I flit between serious dread and that the lesser dread that seems just kinda silly, but still dread. I mean it couldn’t be right? This is just another election with a possible reset just another four years off right? in case we get things wrong, a future time to possibly mend mistakes right?

But I know that that is not the case, this is no regular election and there are no Pollyanna thoughts of how this has always worked continuing in a still existent democratic future.

My problem with Trumpers is, though I don’t fault you your opinions, well, Ok, I do, as they ain’t mine and i could never be that easily susceptible to a con, but that they are too often misinformed, wholly misinformed and I don’t understand your need to “own” the other side like it is some sort of childish game, to grab the mantle of Orange grievance like it is your own, as if he were a guy who actually lived a life with you.

He hasn’t, never has, lived that life, he has never been that guy, nor is he heaven messiah sent as he glories to be, he IS the elite he warns you of. You spend so much time and glee on owning the other side that you miss the bigger picture. You become cult and you won’t be able to break away until it’s too late, and there will be a time where that comes.

T-Minus 4 days now as I continue a Trump parody tune a day until the election (starting at day 12).

Man these GOP’ers are all just shamelessly and transparently enamored of continuing to enrich their wealthy friends and corporations and widen the wealth divide huh? I mean, they just LOOOOVVVVEEEE their practically criminal tax cuts from ’17 don’t they, a point of internal laughing pride, I’m sure, that they were able to, yet again, foist upon us, some more of their trickle down bullshit and get away with it.

From Trump promising more and more and more to now his pretty god-sent spokesleader Mike Johnsen “Such a nice looking guy, just that little beautiful face with the glasses” saying he looks forward to working with a GOP Senate at prioritizing the reauthorization of Trump’s tax law. Oh, Johnson also feels he and his team team could quickly pass legislation to address concerns at the border even though those concerns were already addressed in a bi-partisan way until the Orange one scuttled those plans … “The border is huge!!!! Must come up with a hard solution now!!! It is of the most hugest of hugely huge importance!!! We have and agreement Sir, finally with lots of concessions on their part, you would be hugely happy!!! Fantatstic!!! but kill it … need to campaign on how we can’t get anything done down at the border and how hugely huge it is!!!”

Well, T-Minus 5 days now until the most consequential election in this nation’s history.

If the if the Orange Devil prevails you will soon discover that conservatives will take full advantage of no longer being persecuted in their beliefs of NOT being able to persecute you in yours and dictate how you live but instead will now work to force you into compliance.

Say goodbye to personal and religious liberties if they don’t align with Great Leader and “The Followers” and, with the majority of the nation’s highest court on the payroll, good luck in trying to fight any of the invasions.

Oh, and hope to god that you are white and straight (and preferably, if possible, male)

Will it be continued democracy or a creeping fascism?

Shame on you GOP for your lack of will and your rubber backbones to not stand up for the former and just accept the latter instead now as a matter of course, as if this were just the flow of new history, the CPAC darling Jack Posobiec highlighting such in his future jackboot “Democracy needs to die” inspirational rant blueprinting all that is wrong with today’s GOP while of course somehow laying the blame of this wish at the feet of Dems and their destruction of OUR country.

“They say democracy, but they mean authoritarianism, and they know it,” he said with a straight projection face. But we know who the real authoritarian wannabe’s are now don’t we Jack?

One of the first things I did, parody song-wise years ago, was a take on R.E.M.’s “It’s The End Of The World” and the dangers of a Trump then and how we were screwed.

Then came a respite, a non-Russian influenced vote, a collective “shit, how far have we fallen? How could we have?” … a breath then to Joe …

Well, now we are back in the same screwed boat or at least the frightening possibility of such.

So to R.E.M. again and another take, this time to “Don’t Go Back To Rockville” and worries of Democracy in a devil’s orange light.

Back in January I visited Melanie’s “What Have They Done To My Song” for another of my parodies, I’ve been working this angle for going on 7 years now with quite a lot of tunes, a boatload, and blah blah blah Steve, yes, your editorials in song as blah blah blah, no one is going to read any straight up editorial blah blah blah but if you put them to tune blah blah blah … you’ve told us.

But that is what it is and what I do though, I gotta say, in my own defense, they are all pretty toe tap worthy, biting and spot on and just darned good in that biting and spot on and toe tappingness.

Anyway, visited Melanie again and her “Brand New Key” now, a tune reminded the other day out of the corner of my ear at work from the ‘Magic’ station playing at my boss’s desk.
