Coloring the Pale (poem – quadrille)

Earlier this week protesting was in order (IS in order in this current orange cluster f climate of ours) with Punam at dVerse Poets and a very cool quadrille prompt inside a cool post, of yes, protest.

So then to the latest dVerse Quadrille, a 44 worder (not counting the title) including here, the word “Protest”.

Note: Punam, I did think to try something just a little different with this one. It’s still 44 words but I thought, instead of using the word protest specifically in a line, to spell it out with the first letter of the last word of each line.

Coloring the Pale

Coloring loudly those beyond the pale

announcing wills to rail

words embodied in all manner to share “Oh,

you WILL see us, you WILL hear us, Today!!”

like drumming rain overflowing the eaves

of an empty shelter

turning news to discarded pulp our task
