Balloons (six sentence story)

GirlieOnTheEdge had another Six Sentence Story prompt earlier this week that I was late to entering in the prompts link with the others but I thought to go with it anyway and stream a little.

The word this time around was Balloon.

Balloons

He thought of just how cool it would be, like has been imagined, to string a bunch of balloons together so easy to grab if you’re sly at a birthday party or a mail box open house or a maternity ward or at a boardwalk at the beach or at a funeral with a dark sense of humor and just float up to under and then through and above the clouds hopefully avoiding the sudden noses of planes and the rest of them that follow with frightened small faces in small windows waving you away or happy small faces of children in the same small windows waving you come closer in the “through” part until you reach above them and a meditation point for a mere split second eternity and the balloons then start to pop because Billy was mean with a tack, or the heat was too much rising from the driveway and it just wasn’t in your budget now or ever it seems, or the doctor shook his head or a person with a pellet gun turned from the ducks with red circled targets on their sides to you instead to take away your fun and make you drop your ice cream or some just shriveled black airless until there was just one balloon left and time stood still and you saw the universe in its entirety before you started to fall back after one more pop.

“Oh, baby it’s Ok, stop crying now … look, there’s another booth with balloons right over there”

“But, that one was special Mom, I had it the whole time”

“I know honey, but you can get another to take home with you ok?”

“And can I get a new ice cream too?

“Of course”
