At dVerse Poets Li brings us a new Quadrille prompt, the dVerse specialty, a 44 word poem (not including the title) with one word to be included. This time around the word is “Horn”.
/////////////////////////////////////////
But … There’s Still the Weather
Weather settled the kitchen table
with cracked flowers
water stained mail
returned
and a horn of plenty made of wax and dust
.
It crashed
forks knives lightning
in muted droll cloud sparks
quiet mouthful thunders
and swallowed rain bursts
of another soon tailwindswept meal

Stephen, dinner time at your houses sounds anything but boring!

Your hornucopia runneth over, Steve, with stormy meals I do believe. 🙂 I love the incongruous juxtapositions in imagery. So cleverly done!

A storm-soaked snapshot with a hint of humour and tension. My only real experience of meal times like this was watching them on Roseanne! Great write Stephen 👏
