A Letter For The King (poem)

New Quadrille prompt at dVerse Poets this week comes from De Jackson/WhimsyGizmo and is of “Mything Poems” and for us to get to our 44 worders including some use of the word “myth” …

A Letter for the King

We wish to hasten a reign’s dying

revealed it be of new old clothes

wrapping, warping an emperor, wanton sire

naked of trust

truth in repose

but fancying power’s lust, ire

mythology built of verity despaired

We wish to hasten a reign’s final airs
