A Letter for the King

We wish to hasten a reign’s dying

revealed it be of new old clothes

wrapping, warping an emperor, wanton sire

naked of trust

truth in repose

but fancying power’s lust, ire

mythology built of verity despaired

We wish to hasten a reign’s final airs
